A Note from the Artist:

I aim to create work with freedom. I create for an audience who will view it and interpret it in their own way. I prefer using music that helps drive the movement, so my dancers are able to listen and feel how the movement should flow. Although my movement is not driven by meaning, I want the audience to see an overall story: a build, a climax, and an end. I am heavily influenced by modern and contemporary choreographers, David Parsons and Andrew Winghart, and playing with styles that are both natural to me and out of my comfort zone. What comes natural to me flows freely, and what is unfamiliar is driven by an unknown force that builds diversity in movement. I appreciate moments of stillness to make the audience think and anticipate what is to come next. I also like to satisfy my viewers with specificity of timing and movement that goes directly with the sound score. I believe works can be created for the purpose of movement for movement’s sake, whilst also revealing my creative process and investigating what works for a choreographer. I plan to continue my own investigation of the choreographic process and make works that leave viewers wanting more.
